Sources and methodology

ShowWhich polls are included and how the numbers were copied.

Pollsters' own releases only. Every number is copied by hand from the pollster's public release, linked on each poll. GovGalaxy does not use poll averages or tables compiled by other sites.

Which polls. Recent nonpartisan public polls of 2026 U.S. Senate and governor races. A poll paid for by a campaign or party would carry a label saying so. This is not every poll of every race.

Which numbers. The first ballot question in each release, among likely voters, before undecided voters were asked which way they lean. Undecided shares are shown when the release lists them. A dash means the candidate was not in that poll. Where a release leaves out interview dates, sample size or margin of error, the page says so.

Order. Candidates appear in the same order in every poll of a race (Democrat, Republican, then others by last name), never ranked by share. Bars are drawn by GovGalaxy from the numbers in red for Republicans, blue for Democrats and gray for everyone else, with each party also named in text; no pollster graphics are copied.

Margin of error. Each share could be higher or lower by about the margin of error. Pollsters compute it in different ways, so compare polls with care.
