This is your map, not a forecast. GovGalaxy makes no picks; every candidate and party label comes from the state's official candidate list.

About this map

  • Candidates and party labels are copied from each state's official candidate list, the same lists as the state Ballot pages and the candidates page. Open a state in the panel to see its source.
  • “Who holds each seat today” fills each race with the party of the senator now in that seat, as the Biographical Directory of the U.S. Congress lists it. A state with no race is filled only when both of its senators share a party. A party with no candidate on that state's ballot is left unpicked.
  • Each state's own label shows in the panel. For the count, labels are grouped: Democratic, Republican, independent or no party, Libertarian, Green and other parties.
  • The 65 seats not on the ballot are counted by the party each senator is listed under on the United States Senate (opens in a new tab)'s roster. Independent senators are counted as independents.
  • Your picks are kept only in the link. Nothing is saved on GovGalaxy or sent anywhere.
  • Full color is a solid pick, a light shade is lean, stripes are tilt, and purple is a tossup. Each state picked for a party also shows its letter. Red and blue appear only on this tool, where they show your picks; GovGalaxy's own pages never color parties.
