Sources and methodology
ShowHideWhere the seat counts and district lines come from.
These are the seats before the November 3, 2026 election, as the legislature listed them.
District lines come from the U.S. Census Bureau's upper chamber boundary file (Cartographic boundary files, state legislative districts), which maps the districts the state reported to the Census Bureau. Where a state has redrawn its districts since then, the state's own maps are the official ones. District names are the Census Bureau's.
